The German cockroach

It's the most common species in Belgium. It is found in homes, bakeries, hotels, restaurants, kitchens, schools, hospitals, ships, barracks, and dumps. Adults measure just over one centimeter in length. They are straw-yellow to light brown, with two longitudinal black stripes on the thorax. Both males and females have wings but rarely fly. The larvae are smaller and darker.
